Our team is one of the most experienced in the world at this procedure. Our three surgeons are experts in complex abdominal surgery for peritoneal metastates. They have performed hundreds of cytoreductive/HIPEC surgeries, and typically perform 2–3 procedures a week. We have a highly experienced staff as well, including seasoned nurses, medical oncologists, and others familiar with the needs of pateints undergoing cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC.

Andrew M. Lowy, MD
Andrew M. Lowy, MD, a distinguished cancer surgeon and director of our Division of Surgical Oncology, has a primary interest in cancers of the pancreas, liver and GI tract. He is recognized worldwide for his expertise in the surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer and for investigating novel cancer treatments, including heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to treat advanced abdominal cancers.

Joel M. Baumgartner, MD
Joel M. Baumgartner, MD, is a surgical oncologist with expertise in cancers of the GI tract and melanoma. He has a specific interest in treating tumors that have metastasized to the abdomen using the "chemo bath" treatment or hyperthermic (heated) intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). He trained at University of Pittsburgh, one of highest volume HIPEC centers in the world.

Kaitlyn Kelly, MD
Kailyn Kelly, MD, is a surgical oncologist with expertise in benign and malignant gastrointestinal (GI) and endocrine diseases, as well as skin cancers and soft-tissue sarcomas. In addition to training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, one of the world's most prestigious cancer centers, she trained in cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC therapy at the University of Pittsburgh with Dr. David Bartlett.
