HIPEC Outcome Data
Our HIPEC center is one of the busiest and most experienced in the world. We perform more HIPEC surgeries than any center in the western United States. Because of our experience, our outcomes are among the very best, and we are constantly working to improve them.
Facts and figures
- Number of HIPEC surgeries performed: 1-2 per week (approximately 200 total August 2007–August 2013)
- 75% for appendix cancer
- 23% for colon cancer
- 2% for other cancers
- Median estimated blood loss (EBL): 300cc
- Patients’ median peritoneal cancer index (PCI): 13
- Median length of stay (LOS) in hospital: 10 days
