Established in 1998, the Rebecca and John Moores UCSD Cancer Center DNA sequencing facility is a shared resource for Cancer Center members as well as general public investigators. The Shared Resouce generates high quality sequences with speed and flexibility to meet the growing demands of scientific researchers. Sample data turnaround time is within 24 to 48 hours with all systems running.

Business hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Relaxed Sequencing Concentration Requirements! (4/20)

  • Plasmid template concentrations of 150-400ng per microliter are now accepted!

Recommended free software: ABI Sequence and Genotyping file viewers (4/11)

  • Sequence Scanner:
    View your analyzed and raw data simultaneously along with your peak quality scores! Tabbed browsing and lots of features make this program very useful.
  • Peak Scanner:
    View your fragment analysis files (.fsa). This is one of the only freeware genotyping viewers available! Sizecalls only, no programmable allele calls.

Stock Primers (3/12)

  • The DNA Sequencing has added several new primers to our stock primers list. New offerings include EGFPn, EGFPc, GFPf, CMV, SV40, and an improved BGHr.
