Administrative Services
The Administrative Services sector of the UCSD Moores Cancer Center is an integral part of the center's business function. The Associate Director for Administration (ADA), Ira S. Goodman, leads this sector and assists the Center Director and his Senior Leadership in implementing all phases of strategic planning and policy implementation. In addition to his participation as a decision-making member of the senior team, the ADA manages all aspects of the Center’s business functions, including the following:
The Business Office provides services for faculty and their staff, as well as for the Center's administration office. Services include contract and grants administration, management of clinical trials, department budgets, and oversight of shared resource facilities.
Communications & public affairs is responsible for promoting the Cancer Center to internal and external audiences through the Center's programs, services, people and accomplishments.
The Office of Grant Development assists Cancer Center faculty members in pursuit of external research and training support, particularly large-scale program and center grants, and young investigator awards.
The Human Resources Department acts as a business partner working with and for the employees, divisions, and units of the Cancer Center, including staff and academic employees, supervisors, and management.
The Office of Industry Relations initiates and manages partnerships between private industry and Moores Cancer Center basic scientists, physician scientists and clinicians seeking support for research and advanced patient care programs.
The Information Technology group is made up of four divisions: Infrastructure, Research Computing, Data Services and Internet Operations. Cancer Center members and staff are provided a host of services and resources.
Member relations assists Cancer Center faculty members to access a variety of opportunities and services that benefit their research, teaching and patient care efforts.
